Our Goal: 4 iPads & WIFI For 1 Year

In 1992 I was 14 years old and visiting a friends house after school. It was the best day of the week, Friday! As I walked in the apartment I heard a crackling, pinging and scrambling in the other room. It was the struggling sounds of a dial-up modem. I ask my friends Father (pointing to the modem) "this little box gets you on the worldwide web?" his response was "Yup" with a big smile on his face while his page loaded slowly.



I once thought of the worldwide web as science fiction. It was out of my reach because I’ve never experienced it. We often think of new ideas as concepts until we are shown how they work in real life.



In 2011 the mobile smartphone and tablets are giving us the same sense of discovery. We want to show our youth within the Sunnyside / Woodside Boys and Girls Club (SWBGC) how mobile communication and information will change their worlds. If we allow our youth to engage with technology they will develop cultural understanding, create new jobs, new economies, and innovate more efficient medical practices.

Your contribution is a tax deductible donation that will fund our SWBGC Technology Program goal of $3800. Those funds will be used towards the following:

• (4) iPad 2
• WIFI internet access for one year in our SWBGC
